Urban Decay Naked Smoky – The Lowdown!

naked palette

Urban Decay are going Smoky! They have launched the much hyped Naked Smoky. Any of you fans out there will know that this is their newest to the UD palettes and we got to have a play with it at the launch this week at the very trendy Dean Hotel in Dublin. So, the low down. The palette has twelve shades, with a mix of matte & satin, warm and cool tones. The shimmery of the colours are less glittery than in the original Naked palette, so more wearable for everyone. The colours are a mix of warm bronzes, dimensional greys(Smolder, a purpley grey is my fav), rich browns, taupes and black. Everything you need for a great smoky eye. There are even instructions included for those who struggle with the elusive smoky eye.  These shades are great for all eye colours with the lighter shades being good for day time and the dark for a more evening look, of course there are no rules with makeup!  Go for a dark smokey eye any time of day if you love you can rock it!  Then for the days when you don’t have time or want something else other than a smoky eye, you can go for a wash of one colour all over the lid

The case itself has a really decent sized mirror and the outer packaging is smooth, better in my opinion than the previous velvet like casing.(Easier to clean!) The double ended shadow brush has a very usable tapered crease fluffy brush on one end and a smaller detail on the other. I think the fluffy crease brush would be good for blending, fluffy brushes, usually by design, don’t pick up as much product as say a flat brush. We we’re told there’s a waiting list on a lot of counters, you’d need to go to your nearest Debenhams or House of Fraser, Dundrum to get on it!…it’s retailing at €46 and launches on the 6th August 2015.  What do you think guys, are you excited by this new palette?
