Irish Times Editorial Makeup Artist

This is a photoshoot that I did for the Irish Times back in March which appeared in the Style Magazine. I didn’t manage to get a hardcopy, but just found these on the Irish Times Website.

The photoshoot was with some of the members of the Trinity and UCD rowing teams. The look was really simple and was more about them as sports people with a little hint of preppiness. I was asked to keep them very natural looking and just give a wet look to the hair.

Wet Look Hairstyling

For the girls I used the following products to create this look:

I am not going to go through every product used on the shoot, but generally I used alot of Lancome Teint Miracle foundation without powder, MAC Amber Lights Eyeshadow and the Clinique longlast lipgloss. It is fantastic for making the lips appear plump and wet. For their hair I slicked it back using some water and serum. Then I sprayed liberally with Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine to keep it in place. I also used a mixture of glycerin and baby oil spritzed on their faces to give them a wet look.

I used a tiny bit of MAC Face and Body to even out their skin tones and set this with a light coating of MAC Blot Powder. I used some Paul Mitchell Sculpting Lotion and a hair dryer to get the guys hair to move in the direction I was looking for, then used some Super Clean Sculpting Gel to fix this into place. Again a little glycerin and baby oil spritz all over.
