Product Review: Clarins Instant Light, Radiance Boosting Complexion Base

Hello Ladies,

I am a big Clarins fan and was really excited when I came across Clarins radiance boosting complexion base. With spring in the air I am focusing on beautiful fresh skin and bright colours so this product was right up my alley. I love to go makeup free when not working, however, sometimes your skin needs a little help when achieving that natural glow! 🙂 My skin can have quite an uneven tone to it with patches of redness so I chose the Champagne colour to start with. This is a product that can we worn alone or under makeup as a primer with an added advantage of skin care benefits including Katafray plant extract which helps in naturally boosting the skins radiance and hydrates it at the same time. The complexion is available in three different shades with 01 rose for ultimate radiance, 02 Champagne to counteract redness and 03 Peach for tanned complexions.

The fluid is slightly fragranced and absorbs quickly into the skin. In fact I think one of the highlights of this base is the gorgeous fresh smell. I will say for those looking for more coverage this is definitely not for you as is almost translucent when on. However, for me it definitely worked in combating the redness and I was delighted with the subtle natural glow. If you have heavy redness or blotches you will need a little concealer but it definitely gets a thumbs up from me for the second skin finish, enhancing your natural makeup free glow and evening your skintone.
I will say, when I used this as a primer I didn’t notice a massive difference in luminosity but my makeup did stay in shape throughout the day. Personally I love the effect when used alone and I have now found another staple for my handbag – two big thumbs up!!

Are there any other products on the market that you would recommend for a similar effect. As always please comment or ask any questions!

Lots of Love,
