The other night I got to attend the Griffith College Fashion Show! With 1st, 2nd and 3rd years showcasing pieces it was definitely going to be an interesting evening!

With top Irish Model Alison Canavan hosting the night wearing a great number from one of Griffith Colleges past students, the show was of to a great start.

The first years each showcased one piece. I have to say I was very impressed with the first years, there stuff was very wearable but you could really see the skill and I look forward to seeing there collections in the next few years.

The second years showcased 3 items each but who stood out for me was Emma Murphy with her great choice of vibrant colours, how could it not stand out!

OK so I’m a huge fan of hoods on any kind of top or jacket(I’m used to being rained on ha) so when I seen so many items with an oversized hood I was thrilled!

The third years really had their work cut out with their collection showcasing up to 6 looks. Stand outs for me on the night were, Sarah Duffs collection “making young urban sophisticated women smile” with a luxury sorts day wear! Her jackets were fab and I really want both of the !

Another stand out and the one I was most excited to see was Roisin Lawrence’s collection. For me she totally went against the grain(which I loved) with her “Evolved” collection. Taking her inspiration from the video game “Bioshock”  tag lining it ” has natural human evolution ended?”. Using hand made accessories moulded from rubber latex her collection really was a show stopper.

Last but by no means least a big hats off to Lamis Goumaa for designing the only men’s wear collection. The textures used throughout were really eye catching, your attention to detail really paid of Lamis.

A massive congrats to all the fashion students on their collections and also congrats to the winners of some amazing internships!

Im looking forward to seeing more!
