This is a little late but better late than never! We’ve been busy bees working on getting EF Creative Studios ready for you guys to come in and be beautified. We are open for business I’m pleased to say..more on that later.
We were lucky to be invited to the Dunnes Stores AW14 Fashion Show at their headquarters in Dublin last month. There hadn’t been a show in six years so there was a bit of a buzz about the show.
All of the Fashion peeps were there to see what Dunnes had on offer.
Dunnes Stores is a bit of an institute isn’t it really, to me, in the past it I would have said they are reliable for quality but not exactly exciting. Well, they have upped their game in the last few years. The impressive designer Carolyn Donnelly came on board as Creative Director in 2012 and with over thirty years of success in the fashion industry, has her clothing Carolyn Donnelly The Edit and of course Irish designer Paul Costello also has a range in the store. Ms Donnelly was spotted in the FROW, yep, I said FROW! There is also a Carolyn Donnelly home ware range, which I absolutely love!
Overall I was impressed, the quality remains and there were some really lovely pieces on show. Some of my favs from were the Monochrome outfits, some gorgeous pencil skirts and fab jumpsuits. I really liked some of the knitwear, some cosy oversized cardigans and cute jumpers. The men’s clothes, alas, were a little bit forgettable.
All of the lovely well known models were to be seen, here is the striking Yomiko Chen from Assets Model Agency. The makeup was a strong highlight to catch the light and a contour to enhance bone structure and what looked to be a autumnal orange/red on the lips.
Check it out the highlights:
Afterwards we mingled and drank soup from a shot glass, how fancy!
Great night, look forward to the next show.
Oh and last but not least, we got a fabulous goodie bag! Thanks Dunnes Stores!
