Hello to All!
With the latest range of DD creams hitting our shelves I’ve decided to do a quick run through of what they are and why we want them!
While tinted moisturisers are still on the market and probably still have many fans, I haven’t seen a new launch for one in quite a while it seems alphabet creams are all the rage now!
BB creams, also known as ‘beauty balms’ or ‘blemish balms’ ,have become very popular in the last two years. BB creams provide coverage with added skin care benefits like SPF and anti-oxidants–the list goes on depending on what brand you choose. They’re lighter than foundation but heavier than tinted moisturizers.
The difference between BB and CC creams is subtle. The CC stands for ‘Colour Correcting’ or ‘Coverage Control’ these products are designed to address issues like redness and dull complexions.
I’ve tried many BBs and a few CC creams–and honestly, they’re almost the same. Where it gets most confusing here is that BB/CC benefits and coverage vary greatly among different brands.
And now get ready for DD creams (sigh).
Make up brand Julep have released what it’s calling a ‘Dynamic Do-All’ cream this summer, and it seems to be a combination of both BB and CC creams with a SPF 25 protection, primer, moisturiser, anti-aging agent, and coverage in four shades . Strangely, the cosmetics industry was predicting something completely different for DD creams, originally implied that it was developed for use on your feet!
So now that we have all of these options what’s next? are BB creams now a thing of the past? will foundations be taken over by this new trend?
Let me know what you think?!
