Spring is in full swing and it is nearly summer time! Yay, my favorite time of year. This is the time to start prepping your skin and get it sorted before the holidays and sun worship begins (with factor of course). I always find that my skin gets quite dry in the winter so I have to step up my skin hydration routine. Here are some of the products that I have been using of late: Read More
So Christmas is in full swing now! If you are like me when it comes to shopping and leave things to the last minute don’t despair, there is still 11 days to do all your shopping!! I have collected my favourite beauty gifts for Christmas, which will be great for your female loved ones.
I have included some budget presents which work as stocking fillers or work party presents as well as some pricier ones for that extra special person:
Limited Edition You Organic Lip Balm and Holder
This fantastic little tin makes a great filler present for stockings or if you want to buy a little gift for many people. It is hand-made, organic and made right here in Ireland.
Claire’s accessories Nail Pearls Set €6.95
Nail art has really taken off in Ireland. This 3D Nail Art kit is fantastic for young and young at heart. I love this rich turquoise colour. The great price means that it is fantastic for Chris Kindles Presents.
MAC cosmetics Guilty Pleasures Pigment Gift Set €37
Every year I try and pick up one of MACs pigment gift sets as they are such good value. This one I actually picked up in the UK, so I am only guessing the price. I love the colour pay off from these products. Also as an added bonus the box makes a pretty container for holding things, I currently have my hair clips living in it. This would make a good present for a sister or friend.
The Body Shop Body Butter
They are famous for their Shea Body Butters and for good reason. These delectable creams hydrate your skin and keep you smelling fabulous. They are great for layering with your fragrance. These small pots are so handy you can pop them in your handbag for moisturisation on the go. All the different flavours mean you can have a different smell 5 days a week! This is a great present for all ages.
Lancome Happy Holidays Christmas Collection 2012
This whole collection is fantastically sparkly and full of festive colour that is sure to delight. With prices in the region of €17.28 to €25.41. Buy the pieces individually or pair them together depending on how much you want to spend, there is something for every budget.
Make-up Course in Dublin with Emma Farrell Makeup €75-€500 [Yes me :-)] I think this would be a lovely present to give someone. From the beauty obsessed to the person who is nervous about make-up and hasn’t a clue what will suit them, there is a course that will benefit them. There are also courses for make-up artists looking to improve their skills or learn new ones like airbrushing, fantasy, bodypainting or special effects.
Clarins Holiday Essentials
Every year without fail I buy someone a Clarins gift set. I just think that they are such good value and are also superb quality products. They are a failsafe for moms, nanas or anyone who is seeing the first signs of aging and is looking for some serious results.
Butter London Lips and Tips €27
This fashion week cult brand, is the perfect gift for the girl/lady with a bit of style. These matching lipstick and nail gift sets will go down a treat. Great for a main present for your friend or colleague. Perfect as part of a few gifts for your daughter or sister.
Nima Brush Set
Every person who applies make-up needs a good brush set! There are now a few Irish companies selling great quality brushes, so you no longer have to wait a long time for them to be shipped from America and get stung for the import duty! I ordered a few brushes for a friend and they arrived the next day, so the service is excellent!
The Gift of Love (pic courtesy of contemplativejourney.blogspot.ie)
Ok so for those that hate sentimentality, switch over now! Although I love giving and receiving gifts, I do feel that there is an awful pressure on people these days to go all out and buy each other really expensive things. I have to say that the best gift of all is love. You can do this by giving up some of your time, being helpful or going the extra mile for someone. If you are feeling the pinch this Christmas, your friends and family will understand and wouldn’t want you putting yourself under undue pressure. So be inventive, you could make something or give them vouchers for a coffee date with you at a later time, the only limitation is your imagination!
I am sure that I will be speaking with you again before Christmas, so until then. Enjoy the buzz and excitement of the festive season.
Lots of love,
Hello Beauty Lovers, it is a fantasticly dreary day, which for once I don’t mind because it is of course Halloween! So for once this dark dull weather is fitting. I hope you all have a spook tastic day and if you have any little ones you enjoy trick or treating later. I had a very busy weekend with three days that were over 12 hours long! I had a couple of easy days since to recharge the batteries and I am looking forward to creating some haunting make-up later!
As you know I am a big fan of supporting Irish Business, so I thought I would share with you a new brand that I have discovered called YouOrganic.
YouOrganic Skincare is natural cosmetics company based in Dublin, which was founded this year by Ursula Elmes. Ursula is a qualified Acupuncturist and Holistic Skin Therapist. She started the company after she suffered a severe dermatological reaction to a well known brand. Having lost faith in the big brand, Ursula became obsessed with experimenting with different natural ingredients. Using her own blend of essential oils and herbs, she applied a formulation to her skin everyday and after a short time it completely healed.
It was a light bulb moment that sparked Ursula’s desire to create a product line using only ingredients as natural and as pure as we are, and that ultimately works in synergy with our skin. After countless batches, feedback from test audiences (friends & family) and with the help of a product designer YouOrganic was born. What has resulted is a Natural Cosmetic range that is gentle on skin, sourced from fair trade suppliers, contains no nasty chemicals and against animal testing. YouOrganics does not contain harsh, irritating, synthetic ingredients and artificial colours, which makes it stand out from other products currently on the market.
The range currently contains candles, lip balms, face creams and body lotions. I am yet to try any of the products, but they look and sound amazing. Has anyone tried these yet?
I would love to hear some feedback.
Lots of Love,
