I’m not sure if it’s confidence that has come with age or just that I know more about what actually looks good makeup-wise but a light foundation with a gorgeous skin finish is all I ever look for these days. Of course with certain looks for the evening or if going for a vintage feel there is a place for an ultra matt, sculpted face but just not for my daytime. Read More
As you might have noticed from facebook I have been working with Hotlox Hair Extensions alot lately. Here are some behind the scenes shots of one of the looks we did. Orlaigh had got mermaid hair extensions (blue and purple pastel) which I think are so cool! Read More
So it’s that time of the year again. Pictures of bouquet of roses clutter your Facebook news feed, booking a table in your favourite restauraunt is near impossible and those of us who are single are given a sympathetic ‘are you doing anything tonight?’ question along with a head tilt. Personally I’ve never really bought into romance aspect of the day but have always enjoyed the gifts 🙂 So this year, whether you love or loathe Valentines day why not make it a day to proclaim love to yourself?! Why not spoil yourself? God knows you deserve it 🙂

Lots of Love,
Hello fellow beauty lovers!
So I am back from my whirlwind trips to London and will have some more time to get blogging again. There were just not enough hours in the day last week with weddings, tv shows, fashion shoots, awards ceremonies and a make-up competition to judge! More on all of them in other posts…
I know this is a bit late in the day, but isn’t the Andy Worhol Pop Art collection from Nars absolutely gorgeous? It is on my wishlist for sure. What got me thinking about the products is this video on their Youtube page:
I love the way that brands have started to take notice of all aspects of social media and are producing informative videos, so that we can re-produce the looks from their visuals.
The Silver Factory-inspired beauty look with pops of strong blue and green really work well with the models warm skin tone. I was hoping to pick up this product when I was in London at Nars UK, but I spent waaay to much money in Charles Fox so had to be disciplined. Will post another time about what I got.
What do you think of the Nars collection? Is there anything that you fancy from it? Have you seen any good video tutorials of late that you would like to share with me?
Lots of love,
So you probably remember a couple of weeks ago, that I was telling you about a nifty little tool that Sephora/Pantone had release, you can see that post here. While I was on holidays I decided to pop into a Sephora store to discover if this little device, that promised so much lived up my expectations.
I was promptly seated in a special station that was set up, just for the the Colour Matching Service. The Beauty Associate, showed me all the tools and promptly explained what everything did. I unfortunately don’t have any pictures of the scanner, because we lost our camera, but luckily I had also taken a couple with my phone. There was this uber cool scanner and also this chart, which had all the various skin tones and shades listed on it. Just like we know, it ranges from Pink, Neutral to Yellow.
So she did three scans on my face. One on my forehead, one around the nose and then one on the jawline. The machine computes these three colours and then gives you one tone that will balance out the darker and lighter tones making you look even skinned and flawless! Well that is the hope.
After this they emailed me my matches, which you can see below:
After all that, I bought a foundation not on the list! I just like to be difficult 🙂 I went for a foundation that hasn’t been listed with this tool yet, I will do a review on that later.
I think that it is a fantastic tool for the consumer to get a foundation that matches their skin tone. I for one have bought enough of the wrong shades throughout the years and I am a trained make-up artist! What about you?
What do you think of this tool, would you like to see it in Ireland? I have read online that Boots now has something similar, has anyone tried that? I am interested to learn more about it. As you can see from the extensive list above, the Sephora tool recommends lots of different brands, textures and forms of foundations. This makes it a far superior tool compared to the No.7 one. It would be great to see a department store like Brown Thomas or Debenhams developing a tool like this.
Let me know what you think.
Lots of Love,
As you might have seen on twitter I got to do a few Halloween makeups this year. Not as many as in previous years because I have been really busy working on The Savage Eye 3 (will post about that in the future).
I did Tara O’Farrell and Georgia Salpa’s makeup for the Creatures of the Night Photocall for Miller.
It was a sultry scary look that compromised of a black smokey eye, blood red lips, paired with freaky yellow contacts and vampire fangs.
We had hoped that it would hit one or two newspapers, but we lucked out as it made it into the Sun, Metro, Mirror and Star. We even got a front cover!
To create the look I used:
Graftobian HD Airbrush Foundation in Dessert Sand
Contoured with a darker shade airbrush colour

1.) Cameron Diaz knows how to pull of simple sophistication.Photo courtesy of celebrity-gossip.net
Normally known for her healthy sunkissed skin, due to her active sporty lifestyle it seems like either she hasn’t been on holidays for a while or she is slathering on the sunscreen. I am loving her gorgeous opalescent skin tone. Keeping it very natural apart from a flash of red lippy, this look screams Hollywood sophistication. If you would like to replicate this look I would recommend the following key products:
Foundation: Vitalumiere from Chanel
Lipstick: Ruby Woo from MACImage courtesy of nowmagazine.co.uk
Eyeshadow: Ivory Opulence from Lancome
Eyeliner: Double Wear Black from Estee LauderImage courtesy of icnetwork.co.uk
Blush: Benetint by Benefit
Mascara: High Impact Curling Mascara by Clinique
2.) Ginnifer Goodwin

Ginnifer is also working a classic look with a striking winged black eyeliner. This look really suits her pixie haircut and gives her a youthful fresh feel. She has kept lips nude which helps to keep us focused on her eyes and that gorgeous Royal Blue dress. If you would like to replicate this look I would recommend the following key products:
Foundation: Diorskin Nude from Dior
Eyeliner: Black Gel Eyeliner by MAC
Lipstick: Belle de Jour by NARS
3.) January Jones
Strong eyebrows frame January’s features perfectly, I really like her lush berry lip colour which shows off her radiant smile. I read an interview with her Make-Up Artist Rachel Goodwin, who breaks down the look on talkingmakeup.com, which I will share with you here:
Beauty Inspiration & The Look: “January’s Golden Globes makeup was all about taking a fresh approach to the classic red lip.”
Beauty Tip: “I used Le Blanc de Chanel under her base to create luminous ‘glowing from the inside’ porcelain skin, then treated her lips with Chanel Hydramax + Active Lip Treatment before applying Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Paris – a gorgeous garnet red from a new lipstick line launching in March. I painted the finest black line on her upper lid with Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir and shaded under her eyes with Chanel Intense Eye Pencil in Graphite in the outer corners. I finished her look by layering lots of different false eyelashes then added Exceptionnel de Chanel Noir Obscur Mascara over the top for an intense black lash line.”
