This is a little late but better late than never! We’ve been busy bees working on getting EF Creative Studios ready for you guys to come in and be beautified. We are open for business I’m pleased to say..more on that later.
We were lucky to be invited to the Dunnes Stores AW14 Fashion Show at their headquarters in Dublin last month. There hadn’t been a show in six years so there was a bit of a buzz about the show.
All of the Fashion peeps were there to see what Dunnes had on offer.
Every year we look to fashion week eagerly anticipating new trends and plucking the most memorable, wearable looks for the year ahead and thankfully this London Fashion Week passed did not fail to disappoint! Here are a few to watch out for!
The purple eyeshadow is back it would seem! Varying from softer pinks and lilac tones, a wash of colour completely over the eye was spotted on a number of catwalks this year not forgetting to mention the use of coloured liner below the bottom lash line.
Staying on the subject of eyes Tom Ford brought us some amazing disco inspired and Debbie Harry styled charcoal eyes. Naturally the queen of the ‘smokey eye’ Charlotte Tilbury was the only woman for this job and the results were stunning, coining her glistening silver creation the ‘smoky oval eye’ 🙂 and brows are most definitely still big in every sense of the word!
Gorgeous dewy skin was most predominantly featured and we can place our bets now on seeing beautiful, highlighted skin and lots of gloss in Spring/Summer 2015! Gloss and Glitter! One artist that nailed this look is
the head artist for Xiao Li, pairing a stunning on trend pink with luminous skin.
Then there was the glitter….ALL the glitter 🙂 In clothes, makeup, hair glitter is here to stay well after the Christmas season so watch this space!
Some of these trends I love and think are super wearable however the jury is still out on purple shadow, I love a soft pink myself but purple might not work on some skin tones….lets just wait and see! If there is anything you may have spotted over the last week that we have missed as always we would love to hear!
Very recently I had the pleasure of working on a fashion film for the Irish Designer, David O Malley for the launch of his ‘Entropy’ collection.
I was familiar with his designs already. I’d seen the singer Young Wonder, wear some his designs at Electric Picnic in 2013 and more recently, RTE weather reporter, Jean Byrne wore one of his dresses at the VIP Style Awards. So I jumped at the chance to be part of the fashion film.
He studied at the National College of Art & Design in Dublin and was named ‘one of the ones to watch’ by Vogue Fashion Festival!
Taking inspiration from the style of the designs and a visit to the Design Centre in Dublin, where you will find his collection, I started to put together ideas for the make-up.
For shoots like this, there are always conversations beforehand about the concept or any themes for the overall style of the shoot. My loose plan (I’m a bit of a planner) was graphic lines and monochrome type look. On the day, I used black and white liner, definite lines being the focus and I enhanced each of the models bone structure with contour and highlighting. On Georgia, the thick winged out black liner all over the lid really suited the geometric style of the clothes. I think the white liner on all three of the models looks cool. I love getting a chance to do high fashion make-up.
Here’s the film, I hope you like it! Well done to everyone involved.

Hello fashion lovers!
This is one for you. Here is some images from behind the scenes of a recent shoot that I did with Coldlilies. It was a fantastic day with the sun beaming down, not very Autumn Wintery, but hey ho, it made really nice conditions to work in!
Hello fellow beauty lovers!
So Sundays are when I will do a bit of shameless self promotion and share some of the work that I have been getting up to. Sometimes I get carried away with the normal day to day work and forget to share it with you.
So here is a shoot that I did last year for the clothing label Aria. I love this range of clothing as it is full of patterns and colour, my favourite things 🙂
Let me know what you think.
Lots of Love,
